Hanshin's veteran

Left-handed pitcher Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi, 42 years old, got his 4th victory. Arai drew attention to himself batting his 8th homerun. Johjima's 3 hits were also remarkable.

Shimoyanagi faced a full base situation twice: in the 2nd inning the Lions managed to score two runs, but in the 3rd inning our veteran didn't give up a single run.

The two teams have the same number of hits (that is to say 10), but Hanshin's line-up seemed to be more active (Johjima even stole a base). They began with a 3 - 0 lead thanks to Murton's hit and Arai's two-run homerun in the first inning. After the Lions scored two runs, the Tigers increased the difference scoring 3 runs in the 4th inning (Tori and Johjima). Not pleased with that, they scored other two runs in the 7th inning (Johjima again). Seibu used 6 pitchers in this game.

Seibu's Takayama batted a two-run homerun from Tsutsui in the 8th inning. Kazuya Tsutsui came back to ichigun on June 16th, with an ERA of 5.00. He couldn't improve it since he left the mound with 2 ER after having pitched only 1/3 of the 8th inning.

Reminder: No game tomorrow.
