Shimoyanagi vs Komatsu

42-year-old veteran Shimoyanagi really played a good game. Not every pitcher can pitch 7 innings without giving up a run. He even scored the first run of the game. Probably like "I have to do everything by myself". Indeed, we don't often see him bunting or squeezing. Most of the time he bats with all his might and see what happens, but it is a winning strategy.

Captain Tori is the new lead-off. I've been waiting for it since the beginning of the season, but it seems that he is not specially good as first batter. He didn't bat a hit today, but was two times timely. That's the power of God Bird: even when he fails he epic wins.

Ken Nishimura pitched today too. Really, it's a pleasure to watch him pitching, but since he plays almost every day and we where on 8th inning with 6 points lead maybe Mayumi should have let him rest. Probably because he was tired (+ Sakurai) Buffaloes finally scored their first run. Well, let's say things as they are: if Arai have caught the ball, the 3rd base runner wouldn't have scored. Nevertheless NishiKen is a great pitcher. Without minding about the scored run, he stroke out the next and last batter (n°4 Akada). It was a nice duel: no balls, two strikes to begin with, then two foul balls and finally the last strike. That was great, NishiKen.
