Hanshin vs Yokohama: 9th match.

The match was won by a narrow margin by the Baystars. Hanshin had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the 9th inning. The bases were full and only one out. Asai's sacrifice fly allowed Arai to score, reducing the difference to one run. After that, Uemoto stole a base but unfortunately Hiyama batted a fly and the match ended.

Yokohama's starter Shimizu has many ups and downs and an ERA of 4.59. Nevertheless he is quite good against Hanshin: three wins and an ERA of 2.92. Neither Murton or Tori could bat hit from him today. Yokohama has another trump card: Yamaguchi, the League's second best closer. These two pitchers managed somehow to suppress Hanshin's attack, but Asai was able to bat his second homerun.

As for the Giants, they have been dominated by the Dragons: they lost 6 - 3 yesterday and 7 - 1 today. As a result, Hanshin is at 1.5 from the first place.
