Game full of suspense. Certainly one of the most interesting games of this season.
Hanshin is again in the first place. Let's hope they will stay there more than two day in a row.
Summary:
Yakult scored the first run but Hanshin took the lead thanks to Arai and Kanemoto's homeruns. Murton hit a homerun as well. The Tigers were leading 5 to 1, but the Swallows counterattack began in the 4th inning, and they succeeded in defeating our veteran starter Shimoyanagi. The young relief pitcher Nishimura also gave up a homerun. He was probably still tired from yesterday's match, during which he saved once again his team from a disaster. The Swallows were winning 6 to 5, but the Tigers did not surrender and they were again in scoring position in the 8th inning. Imagine this: no outs, runners in first and second base, full count for Kanemoto. He hit, Arai took-off from the second base and rushed to the home. Draw. Then Johjima also drove a run in and Hanshin took the lead. The 8th and 9th batters were eliminated but there were still runners on the bases. Murton did not fall short on his reputation and scored two more runs. The fans already know it: when the Tigers have a three-point lead, Kyuji Fujikawa takes the plate. And he did what we expected him to: he kept the score 9 to 6.
- The Tops and Flops -
Top: Kanemoto.
Kanemoto is the man. Three hits among which a homerun, he broke the tie in the 2nd inning, tied in the 8th, and his defense was also formidable.
Top: Fujikawa.
Once more our closer proved himself to be infallible.
Flop: Toritani.
Captain was the only starting member without hits today.
