6 consecutive victories against Yokohama.
Summary:
Hanshin's starter was Andoh. Despite a run lost in the 1st inning, his pitching was good on a whole until the 6th inning. He left the mound to rookie Fujihara with runners on the first and the third base, and only one out. Fujihara was about striking a batter out, but his last throw was in the limit of the zone and the umpire called a base on balls. It seems that the coaches do not have confidence in Fujihara yet and replaced him by Nishimura. As always, he pulled out his team and kept the score 8 to 3. He had his first turn at bat in order to pitch the next inning. Arai drove in 6 out of the 10 runs scored by the Tigers, and also batted a 2-run homerun. Today our closer was a starter. Apparently Tsuru was replaced by a newcomer in the first team: Takumi Akiyama, a 19 year-old right-handed pitcher, who may sharpen his claws against the Giants tomorrow.
- The Tops and Flops -
Top: Arai.
The Tigers batted 15 hits today, but the one who drove attention to himself was Arai. He has the second best RBI of his team, that is to say 76, and the third of the League.
Flop: Fukuhara.
He had the opportunity to pitch in a relaxed environment since Hanshin had a 7- run lead, but despite of this he gave up a homerun to Murata.
