Nearly...

The Tigers lost 5 - 7 against the Giants. They still have the magic number but now they are in third place (what a surrealistic ranking).

Hanshin's starter was Standridge, but he unexpectedly gave up 5 five runs in 3 innings. Everything was still possible in the 6th inning, when Murton stole the second base taking the battery totally by surprise and Hirano hit a three-base hit. Then, our Toritani hit a two-run homerun, forcing Utsumi to leave the mound. Nevertheless, besides Sakurai's homerun in the 7th inning, the Tigers could not hit any other hits.

On the other hand, Kubota performed well: 17 throws in 2 innings and 2 SO.

Funny moment of the game: In the 9th inning, Brazell was struck out but the catcher Abe dropped the ball and had to run after it, thanks to that Brazell had enough time to reach the first base.
