Climax Series: 2nd match

Tigers 6 - 7 Giants

As you can see, the CS are over for Hanshin. However, it was not the case in the first innings:

G 000 020 320
T 201 012 000

Hanshin's starter, Kubo, pitched 6 innings, did 7 strike outs, 1 hit by pitch, gave up 9 hits and 2 runs, but it does not matter since his team was winning 6 to 0. The Giants used 6 pitchers. Their starter should have been Utsumi, but since the statistics put him as a loser against Hanshin's line-up, Hara switched him with Asai in the last moment. The result was even worse and he had to leave the mound after the first inning. Hanshin's offense stopped only with the arrival of Ochi and Yamaguchi in the last 3 innings. Ochi, nicknamed "raijin" (god of lightning) because of his fork, and Yamaguchi, nicknamed "fujin" (god of wind) because of his slider, were more efficient than Hanshin's reliefs, Kubota and Fujikawa. The latter allowed the Giants to take the lead in the 8th inning.

The final stage of the Climax Series will take place on October 20th at the Nagoya Dome (Dragons vs Giants). They will be made of 6 matches. As the League champions, the Dragons have a one-win advantage.
