3"25 is the new base-stealing record among the Tigers. And the new record holder's name is Hiroki Uemoto (age 25).
The previous record holder was "Red Star" Akahoshi (3"26). When he was forced to quit baseball because of serious health problems, the Tigers lost their fastest runner and their best base stealer (Akahoshi has been the top base stealer five times).
The funny thing is that exactly one year ago, Hiroki was at 0"03 behind Akahoshi's record, arousing great enthusiasm on the part of the training coach Itoh and the public attending the camp.
