Spring Camp 2010 (4)

Ok, I will talk again about Hanshin pitchers. Honestly, they are amazing. I think Tigers will have a great starting rotation this year.

Let's begin with Futagami. He was the starter of the friendly game as expected. He played two innings and did not allow any run. Unfortunately they lost the game because Kanemura gave up like 8 runs.

Then, during the training Nishimura struck out Brazell two times. Uezono was also good, even if he gave up a home run to Brazell. But now that he knows that he should not throw a straight right on the middle of the strike zone against a clean-up batter, he will be alright.

Finally, last but not least, Atsushi Nohmi, showed great control skills. I cannot wait to see him throwing his change-ups!

The only problem is that Iwata went back to Osaka due to a pain in his shoulder. I hope that it is nothing serious...

To finish, I would like to say that Tori should really be the lead-off. Of curse, he is very good as 3rd batter. But I think that he will be better as the 1st one. He has a good batting average (.279) and he is also good at base stealing.

2 commentaires:

  1. Whether Nohmi or Andoh would become the starting pitcher in teh first game ?

  2. Andoh is the most likely to be the first starter. He has more consistent results than Nohmi. Last season Nohmi was better than Andoh, but there are often pitchers that can be very good and get worse the next year (I hope it won't happen to Nohmi). It's a little bit hasty to say that Nohmi is Hanshin's new ace.

As an anecdote, Nohmi said to journalists that he wasn't interested at all in being the starter of the first game, and he will let Andoh and Iwata "fight" for it...
