Standridge vs Sugiuchi

This was the last game against Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, since the Interleague will end on the 13th. After 3 additional innings, the game was a draw.

In the 8th inning, Tigers were winning 3 to 2, but the coaches wouldn't have let Standridge in the mound. And indeed, soon after the beginning of the inning, 3rd batter Ortiz batted a two-base hit. So they replaced Standridge by Kyuji Fujikawa. Just as always our closer had control over the situation, until the 5th batter Hasegawa batted a ball that bounced in Fujikawa. That allowed Ortiz to go back to the plate. None of the teams was able to score a run during the 3 additional innings.

Anyway, there were great moments during this game, such as Ryo Asai's first homerun (he is back since three days), and Nishimura's wonderful pitching, even if we are already used to that.

I'll put a video of Nishimura later if someone uploads it and I find it. It is worth its weight in gold. NishiKen pitched the 12th and last inning. He really must rest, but since it's a real pleasure to see his pitching we won't complain about Mayumi's choice. No hit, no BB, 3 batters out with 16 throws. Well, we worried a little when after two strikes, the first batter sent the ball to the outfield, specially because Hirano and Murton almost collided. By the way, Hirano did a very nice jump to catch the ball. Next batter was stroke out, as expected from NishiKen. He showed all the talent he's got with the mast batter. His three first throws were balls, but then, he perfectly threw 3 beautiful strikes while staying totally calm. Nohmi's "padawan".
