Hanshin vs Hiroshima: 13th match.

Without any doubt, the Tigers have the ability to back into the game whatever the difference is. But this time they left us disillusioned.

Summary:

How to lose a game by batting more hits than the opponent? Only the Tigers know the secret. Hanshin had a runner each inning, but the batters we expected to hit failed. In the 1st inning, Murton hit as expected from a lead-off. Hirano did his job as the second batter pushing him forward with a sacrifice bunt. However, the 3rd and 4th batters only batted grounders. In the second inning, the bases were full and only two outs. This time, Murton (AVG .328, RBI 62) was the one ho sent the ball to the short stop. In the 9th inning, Arai was in the second base and there was only one out. The following batters were the 5th and the 6th, Brazell and Kanemoto. Surprisingly both batted a fly to the right field. Nevertheless, unlike the last game against Chunichi, not everything went badly. Brazell, Murton and Johjima batted homeruns whereas Hiroshima did not hit any. Despite of this, Hanshin lost the game only one run behind. According to a legend, the Tigers lose their strength when they are not bale to play in Koshien, because of the high schools championship...

- The Tops and Flops -

Top: Sakurai.

Just after coming back in the first team, he proved that he deserves his place by batting two hits.

Top: Fujihara.

It is nice to see our rookie make progress. He pitched an entire inning and stroke out a batter.

Flop: Andoh.

This time there is no doubt about it.

Flop: Kanemoto.

I wrote his name reluctantly. But he is the only starting member who did not hit. Hirano neither, that is true. However he is often asked to bunt, moreover, today he stole bases and scored.
