Fall camp news

The fall camp for the young Tigers will continue until November 17th in Aki city.

Recently, the young outfielders have been training to catch the balls that come flying over the fence. The manager Mayumi bats himself. He does not pretend that the players will be able to catch homeruns. The aim of this training is to decrease the number of double and triple hits.

The pitcher Minoru Iwata is also attending the fall camp. He was injured during the spring camp on last February, and was unable to play this season. His first game of the year was on October during the Phoenix League, but he gave up 7 hits and 4 runs in 3 innings. Last inning, Iwata threw 60 pitches in the bullpen and considered that they were "definitely bad". Yesterday, back in the bullpen, Iwata's form seemed better. This time he threw more than 100 pitches and declared that everything was going well. The pitching coach Yamaguchi thinks that Iwata might be able to attend the spring camp with the members of the first team. The pitcher will have to pass a last "test" on November 14th, when he will face the batters during the batting practice.
